Uzbekistan – Classic - Itinerary
Uzbekistan lies at the heart of the Silk Road and echoes of its former importance can be seen at the magnificent cities of Samarkand, Bukhara and Khiva, the latter two effectively now open air museums. At Tashkent visit the vast covered Chorsu Bazaar and the imposing Friendship Square.
Discover rural life in Uzbekistan at Ferghana. Khiva is a beautifully preserved old city with pale blue minarets and domes as indeed is Bukhara with its massive walls of The Ark Fortress. The centrepiece though is Samarkand and the Registan with its intricately decorated medrassas.
